Restoration of a Mighty Organ
Hidden beneath the depths of the UK's largest theatre stage lies a
mighty organ, a Mighty Wurlitzer to be precise.
For
over two years this gem has been silent and now thanks to a dedicated
team of restoration experts work is underway to fill the Opera House
Theatre with its unique music once more.
Work is expected to take a few months and the will be ready for its
first concert on 5th March.
Phil Kellsall will be doing the honours and will play the newly
restored Wurlitzer, Phil is no stranger to this organ as he is the
principal organist at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom on its famous
Wurlitzer organ.
